HISTORY
Every big thing has a humble beginning. The central library of the college too started its journey in its own small way in the year 1971. It was initiated in room number one of the present administrative building of the college. At the initial stage, the library was enriched with a small number of books and other documents received from the University of Burdwan. At the later stage, during the period of 1976-77, it was shifted to the first floor of that building in where the Zoology department is currently located. At that time, the library collected some new books on its own side. Then, it further shifted to the first floor of the Science Building during the period of 1998-99. At last, finally, the library was shifted to its own place i.e. Vidyasagar Bhavan on the ground floor.
Many renowned concerns worked efficiently in this department, namely Mr. Dulal Maity (Librarian), Mr. Sankar Kumar Hazra (Librarian), Mr. Batu Khan (Head Clerk), Mr. Ajit Kumar Ganguly (Peon), Mr. Sudam Bera (Peon), Mr. Gobinda Das (Peon), Mrs. Jayashree Bera (Peon), Mr. Manabendra Nath Das (Acted as Library Attendant).
