General services:

The Central library provides all the convential services to its members.

Cooperation to departments:

  • Loan and daily issue of books and other reading materials.

  • Preparation of various reports, technical notes, writings etc.

  • Help in research activities carried out by the faculties.

  • Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) services on demand by the faculties.

  • Help in all the activities in their Seminar Libraries.

  • Procurement of documents on their immediate demand by consultation with the Principal.

  • Arranging special lecture in the Conference-cum-Teachers' Reading Space.

  • Help in organising seminar, workshop or exhibition in the library and so on.

Seminar libraries:

There are very rich departmental or seminar libraries in this college. All the books in the seminar libraries are processed in the Central Library and send to the department. A separate Accession Register is maintained by each of the seminar libraries. The faculties and the staff of the department maintain those libraries and provide services to their students. At present there are 8 seminar libraries in the college:

Users' orientation programme:

  • Users' Orientation Programmes are arranged by the library for newly admitted students and others. This is ongoing programme and it runs throughout the year when needed.

Research support:

There are many documents on different subjects to support research project. Librarians are always very eager to support any researcher in the following manners:

  • Help to conduct literature search on a topic.

  • Literature search and related work to the faculties for their research projects

  • Building references by following International guidelines

  • Finding primary documents on research topics.

  • Collecting related documents to a research.

  • News updates on the research areas and so on.

Disability support:

  • The library is ready to help the students with special needs. The library acts as liaison body between those students with external organisations, institutions and governments.

Services

  • 'Service to the spot' is available by which a PWD student is eligible to get books and other materials in the classroom directly.

  • Moreover, screen reader software is available for visually handicapped students. Reading service to PWDs with reading difficulties by zooming texts, letters, instruction, or read out and scanning reading materials to make them accessible on a computer.

  • Special corner for study or arranging special class by consultation with concerned teachers.

  • Any help in study work or project work on their request are offered to them.

Wi-Fi service:

  • High speed internet is available in the library. Library provides internet connected desktop computers to all the users for study purposes. It also provides Wi-Fi services in and around the library from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. in all working days. Users are required to obtain Wi-Fi password from the library to use this services. The Wi-Fi is totally free of any charges.
