Department of Bengali of Rabindra Mahavidyalaya started its journey in the session 1972-1973 by introducing the General course. Honours Course was introduced in the session 1995-1996. Total sanctioned posts are three; one is vacant. Present faculty consists of Dr. Pirupada Malik (Head of the Department), Dr. Pampa Mukherjee, Dr. Sudipta Banerjee, Mr. Sunil Kumar Meta (SACT-1), Mr. Ayan Mukhopadhyay.The students of this Department publish wall magazine ‘PARNA’ every year. They also organize and take part in student’s seminar and quiz. Teachers’ Day, Sarodutsab, Basantautsab are celebrated in a grand manner. Teacher-Student relationship is excellent and the activities of the Department are performed smoothly with the cooperation of the Principal, Teachers and students. Department regularly organised Parent-Teacher meeting,   students’ counseling and mentoring programmes.
