The Department of Education, Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, Champadanga started its General Course on 21.06.2005 (IC/Affln/P/48/111 (2005-06) Memo no. AFFBU/82/SCHE/2005 dt: 12.05.2005, and Honours Course on 13.06.2007 (IC/Affln/P/48/1003 (2007-08):Affln/BU/73/SCHE/2007 (May/18/2007). At present the Departmental student strength is 130 (Hons.) and 1276 (General). This Department has got good faculty strength including Two fulltime teacher Prof. Haripada Dhara, M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department; Prof. Amit Das, M.A.Assistant Professor. Piyali Ghosh, M.A.,B.Ed., SACT; Prof. Debkumar Magi, M.A. B.Ed., SACT. Aparna Khan, M.A. B.Ed. SACT; Abhijit Dutta. M.A. B.Ed. SACT; , At present the Department is enriched with several facilities. It has a well maintained Departmental Library. Departmental Wall Magazines are published, Quiz contest and Departmental seminars are regularly organized as a part of student’s activity. The faculty members perform Career Counseling/ Mentoring of the students.
The students of the Department of Education are achieving good results in University examinations for last few years and many of our passed out students have got admissions in Post-Graduation course in different Universities/ Institutions. Beside this most of the students of this Department are also cracking different competitive examinations and some of them are well placed in different sectors.
