Department of Bengali of Rabindra Mahavidyalaya started its journey in the session 1972-1973 by introducing the General course. Honours Course was introduced in the session 1995-1996. Total sanctioned posts are three; Present faculty consists of Dr. Pirupada Malik (Head of the Department), Dr. Pampa Mukherjee, Dr. Sudipta Banerjee, Mr. Sunil Kumar Meta (SACT-1), Mr. Ayan Mukhopadhyay(SACT-1).The students of this Department publish wall magazine ‘PARNA’ every year. They also organize and take part in student’s seminar and quiz. Teachers’ Day, Sarodutsab, Vasha Dibas, Basantautsab are celebrated in a grand manner. Teacher-Student relationship is excellent and the activities of the Department are performed smoothly with the cooperation of the Principal, Teachers and students. Department regularly organised Parent-Teacher meeting,   students’ counseling and mentoring programmes.
